Window menu options: Close All, and Minimise all

Post by basirk »

Suggestion:
Add options to the Window menu for:
- Close all
- Minimise all

Reason
I work with a large number of documents open. I often want to compare two docs side-by-side. The Window->Tile Vertically is great for this, but useless if you have lots of document windows open.

If you don't want to close all your open docs (Doc Selector->Right-click->Close Documents) then the only option is to Minimise them all (which is an incredibly laborious task) to just be left with the two that you want to tile.

It's a small change and I can't understand why these options are not there already.

Thanks.

Close All
does already exist - where it belongs, in the file menu, under Close.

Agreed, I'd rather keep the "Close All" command on the file menu, not duplicate it for the context menu. Coincidentally, I hadn't seen it on the File menu until now (guess I don't use it ever).

Ups, overlooked the thing about tiling.

Just select the two files in document selector, right-click, tile horizontally/vertically.

No need to minimize any windows.

Ahhhhhh!

Thanks for that. Exactly what I wanted. Sorry for posting a suggestion for an improvement that already existed
