Since it looks like somebody else would like to be able to specify the User tool buttons. I've added a poll.
I can do this in most other applications. I'd like to be able to do it in Textpad.

I would love this option. It would be easier to use the tools toolbar and give a professional appearance.

This feature would be really useful. The ability to have the standard compile, build, etc icons would make things much easier
