Alig text grayed out
I am trying to evaluate TextPad 4.4.0. I have been able to get Align Justify command (Edit menu) to work one time for a text document but now the menu is grayed out. I select a paragraph to be aligned but it still remains grayed out. I am using a Courier Regular which is not a true type font. I have also reinstalled the program once but this also has no effect on the Align menu. How do you get the Align menu to work for a text document?
RE: Alig text grayed out
I don't usually use this command, but I am also finding myself having a difficult time figuring it out. Both the right-clicking menu and the Edit menu are greyed out. I only use "Courier New", which *is* proportionally spaced (at least visually, is it actually?), so it seems this should work.
The help documentation is very sparse on this command, so it's not obvious to me if something is wrong, or if there's something we're just misunderstanding.
Anyone else know what's going on?

RE: Alig text grayed out
Alignment seems to be unavailable when word-wrapping is active.

Alignment hasn't worked for me since I upgraded/registered.Andreas wrote:Alignment seems to be unavailable when word-wrapping is active.

I have turned word wrap off but it is still grey on the edit menu.
I wish this would get fixed. I can't publish good looking stuff in
text pad without text being centered. Personally, I am just about to
forget it and use linux for everything. But, some people still want
me to show them how to do stuff in M$ and a working sytem could
sell some textpad licenses.

TextPad is not designed for word processing. If you need to publish, I would suggest you look at Word Proccessing programs vs. Text Editors.I can't publish good looking stuff in

Consider Open Office, free Office-like suite.

Just live up to the spec without diversions to other products.
Of course I know about Open Office and lots of Word Processing programs.
I just want simple centering of each line like I used to get before I
registered textpad.
I am not asking Textpad to do anything except what it advertizes.Bob Hansen wrote: TestPad is not designed for word processing. If you need to publish, I would suggest you look at Word Proccessing programs vs. Text Editors.
