I bought the program and have been using it all morning.

Build in a macro tool (editable!), enable the use of scripts.

Extend functionality to simple "search"

Extend functionality to search/replace in a single file.

Exclude from the logs those files that were searched where no change was made.

Again: memory of previous "Find What?" and "Replace With" and some kind of clip library for saving regex's

Am I correct in thinking that I now can use the O'Reily book as a detailed HELP?

The final word on regular expression and replacement format syntax is in the online help, but you won't go far wrong by referring to the Perl compatible stuff in Mastering Regular Expressions, 2nd Edition, by Jeffrey Friedl.
