Numbered bookmarks, paste alternate block

Post by Moz »

I use Delphi a lot, and it has numbered bookmarks. I'm very
attached to them.

The way it works is that CTRL-SHIFT and a number key drops a
bookmark, and CTRL number takes you to that bookmark. For
the first 10 bookmarks this is excellent. The only thing
better than that would be persistent bookmarks between
sessions (make them part of the workspace). The Textpad way
of only having next/prev is a bit limited when you've got numerous
marks.

One other funky Delphi thing is with the alternate select
stuff. Textpad etc you have to hold down ALT and drag. With
Delphi you can also ALT and keyboard select rather than
CRTL-Q,B to toggle. So ALT-SHIFT-RIGHT moves you along
selecting an altenate block. Also, when pasting an alternate
block, Delphi moves the cursor down a line in the current
column, instead of moving to the end of the pasted text.
This makes (eg) prefixing a heap of code easy, and I'm
surprised at how often I use it.
