Function List

I'd like to have some sort of a 'function list' like most IDEs have. I would think this would require some sort of extension to the document-class to handle 'what is a function'?

I bet that couldn't be easily applied for some programming languages but for many it would.

Why don't programs like this have the nice 'new document class' feature that TextPad has?
