Copy About Box and other message dialog boxes

Post by alphadog7 »

It would be handy if the text in all dialog messages (Info, Warning, and Error) was selectable and available for copy/paste. Then the users could more easily report the exact text of problems without possible typo errors.

The same selectable and copy/paste goes for the About Box. I could then easily report the version and my license code (maybe other dialog boxes also).

I am a licensed user and I very much like the product.

Regards,

Agreed!

Because a lot of software has the same issue you describe, I use the program Copy Text.

Hey, I just learned on another forum that Ctrl+C works for most text boxes. It captures text that looks like the following:

Code: Select all

---------------------------
TextPad
---------------------------
Save changes to Document1?
---------------------------
Yes No Cancel
---------------------------
Seems to work with most programs except Microsoft Word message boxes....

It works only if there is no input box in the dialog (in that case, the content of the focussed input box is copied or nothing if a non-input is focussed).

It also does not work for all those programs that do not use Windows windows (like Mozilla which uses its own non-Windows windows)
