Keyboard mapping bug

I seem to occaisionally have problems with the keyboard key mapping getting corrupted. After using TextPad for prolonged periods, my UK layout keyboard seems to become a US layout.

So for example the following key mappings happen;

Original UK -> corrupted layout
# -> \
@ -> "
£ -> #
" -> @
~ -> |
¬ -> ~


This only affects windows and text fields inside TextPad. Its doing it in TextPad at the moment, but the keyboard layout is fine as I'm typing this in IE6.

It only seems to happen if I've had TextPad open for several days (weeks?), but I can't tell whether it is triggered by time, the number of documents opened and closed, opening a particular document class, a memory leak, or something else entirely.
Once it starts it affects all windows, including documents which may have been open from the start.
If I close TextPad and start again, the layout will go back to normal.

Anybody know what's happing?

I'm using TextPad 4.7.3 under Windows 2000 SP3

But I have a question for you:
Where did you get Textpad 4.7.3?

The official download page only mentions 4.7.2...

Well spotted, it actually says '4.7.2: 32bit' - my mistake

I suspect that you have inadvertently selected the American keyboard layout from the Language bar, when TextPad was the active application.

You can choose a different layout for each application when it is active, and this will be retained.

To return TextPad to English UK, make TextPad the active application, and then click on the blue "EN" icon in the bottom right hand Task bar, where you can choose English(United Kingdom) from the list.
