This is the polled replacement topic for the previous Multi-file seach & replace.
Currently, TextPad has a "Find in Files" feature, but no "Replace in Files".
As s_reynisson pointed out, there are external programs available - however, they all use different regular expression syntax to TextPad. I don't want to have to hold two slightly different syntaxes in my head at once - if I use these external tools, I won't use TextPad for text replacement any more.

P.S. For the purposes of jeffy's application, the first two and last two poll options should be merged.

Re: Find & Replace in files
I agree! Using the same regex engine for both is a must IMHO.
subject for this one to "Invalid poll" or something like that, I always do
I think it would be unfair to jeffy to have to hand pick them out one by one.
ps. If you want to start a "legal" poll with the standard five options, just edit thegracefool wrote:... they all use different regular expression syntax to TextPad. I don't want to have to hold two slightly different syntaxes in my head at once ...

Then I open up and see
the person fumbling here is me
a different way to be

Basically legal
There's nothing invalid about this poll - as I said, all jeffy has to do for his statistics is merge the first two and last two options. It's not really any harder for him to do (I'm assuming he does it by hand).
I like the two extra options, because they show what people *really* want - someone may indicate option 2 "very important" for almost everything, but hopefully they are honest and will choose option 1 only once.

Jeffy can speak for himself, but the time to manually generate his poll summaries would be prohibitive. He has written a routine that automatically generates his reports. Time is contributed by him, and I would not ask him to do anything extra, hate to burn out a volunteer. Helping him can only help us. I don't think his requested format is too much to ask of us......only hope that Helios is reading his reports and planning to provide enhancements that the community is looking for.
Hope this was helpful.............good luck,
Bob
