TP license in registry

Post by LonelyPixel »

Hey,
when I install TP and enter the license information, it will get stored into the HKLM part of the registry, it seems. Is there another way to store it in HKCU (current user) part, which doesn't need Administrator rights on that computer? I mean, why should one need Admin rights to register TP for oneself on that PC? Right, this would lead to registering TP only for the current Windows user, but what if I'm the only one using TP on that computer? Then it makes sense though.

If TextPad cannot create a single user license entry under HKLM, it falls back to using HKCU.
