When at home, connected to work via VPN over cable, printing does not go to my local printer, even though it's selected.
It pauses for quite a while, but no job is sent to printer.
I don't know if it's actually printing at a printer on the other side of the VPN, or what. The printer I want to print to is the only printer configured on this laptop. I'm running XP pro and have dark brown hair.
Disconnecting from the VPN solves the problem.
Thanks for any tips.
Can't print locally when attached to VPN

Shot in the dark here, is the printer physically attached to the computer that is connected to the VPN or do you have a home network? The reason for my asking is that our network admin initially had our Cisco VPN client set so that EITHER you saw the work network OR everything else (home network and/or the rest of the Internet). Maybe that's what's going on with your setup?

DOH! I should mentioned the layout here!
I have a home network and the printer is on another machine that is not on the VPN.
When connected to the VPN I can most certainly print to the printer from other applications, such as Outlook, Word and IE.
Textpad is the fist application that I've seen not be able to print to it.
