ASP Syntax Highlighting String issue

I have probably overlooked something, but I cannot find a good document to explain the .syn files.

When I am coding in asp I put in comments using a '. My syntax highlighting thinks it is the beginning of a string and messes up highlighting after it. I went into my .syn file and eliminated the ' from it in the syntax section, but it is still doing it. I'll be happy if it completely ignores a single quote.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?
