Please ensure that you haven't copied the \n end of line character by mistake, before pasting into the Replace dialog box. If you turn on visible spaces, before copying the text, you will be able to see exactly what you are copying.
That was it. I appear to recently have developed the habit of selecting the line by just clicking to the left where I used to drag...cursor problems forcing changes.
