The following removes the right hand bracket from lines like these:
96)
106)
229)
Find what: \)
Replace with: (empty)
(Regex enabled)
But on my first attempt I added an unnecessary '?', i.e:
Find what: \)?
Why did that not only fail to work but consistently crashed TP?

Can your printer simply be asked to print 2 pages per sheet? or 4 if your eyesight is good. Thanks, hadn't realised it but yes it can! It's an old TS205 Pixma but under its Paper-Saving option there are 2-on-1 and 4-on-1 printing options. Just tested with the 2-on-1 and quite good result. But not q...

After getting the task accomplished by first converting to greyscale, I studied it further. My conclusion is that the colours (145 in this example) are present in the TextPad source display. Presumably to smooth the appearance of each text character, especially at small font sizes. Not sure if there...

Pasting a block ''neatly''
I'm trying to use TP in a task for which it's probably not intended. Mainly for convenience, avoiding switching to Word or Excel or my image editor. I have a long file whose font is my usual Courier New Regular size 10. To get it onto as few printed pages as possible I've so far changed that to Aria...

I was unable to reproduce here with TextPad 7.6.4 (64-bit Edition) on my Win 10 PC, Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1706) I don't think I've ever previously tried to use 'Open with' on a shortcut. I simply double click, or select and press the Enter key. Does 'Open' from the right click context menu wo...

You don't need to type characters or deal with the limitations of the Clip Library - just copy/paste your favorite symbols in one text file and it's all done. Thanks, yes, that's what I did in that 2011 text file I described, Bullet character (149,not in list).txt Its only content was the single so...

Entry from the numeric keypad doesn't seem to be working here either. Perhaps it's a Windows 11 thing. I don't know why EditUnicodeChar doesn't work for you. It should present you with a small text entry box at the cursor position into which you can enter the Unicode value in hexadecimal of the cha...

The character in terrypin's original message is Unicode ⦿ (U+29BF, Circled Bullet), not • (U+2022, Bullet). If a document contains a character that does not exist in Windows-1252, the document should not be saved in Windows-1252 encoding. Otherwise, if the character has an equivalent in Windows...

Search displays only first page?
In two different browsers I get the same behaviour. For example, a search for Author ben_josephs, or terrypin, displays page 1 only. Headed 1494 and 66 hits respectively. But clicking Next or 2 or any number gives an error message in TextPad 7.6.4 (64-bit Edition): No topics or posts met your search...
