Thanks, s_reynisson, the preference to "allow multiple" ONLY works when I use "file:open" or when I drag a file into a textpad session. If I double-click in explorer, I will always get a new instance of textpad. Would the "DDE Messages" download in http://textpad.com/add-ons/ address this problem?

Otherwise, many textpad sessions pile up in my taskbar as I open and close documents.
