Topic: unicode support - in which edition can we expect this?

Seems the Textpad developers have no interest in supporting Unicode, but they won't tell. Americans? (Would be typical in a way... "What is other character sets?") How many years hasn't Textpad supported Unicode while almost every other editor does? And they're getting better. PS: This was...

Great, so we have a dozen of SQL syntax files now. I was just looking for one to be used with MySQL 5.0 (InnoDB) and SQLite 3.5... Which one should I take?

Textpad is no Unicode editor. :( So it will probably stick with ANSI characters forever? I'd also like to see Textpad Unicode-capable so that I wouldn't have to use SciTE every time I stumble upon a Unicode file.

Problems with different line endings

Hello, first, I can't find a "Bugs" forum. Then I also searched this board. And here's my problem: I'm writing a lot of code (PHP) with Textpad. Normally, I only save files with PC line endings. But I happen to find my files with some additional empty lines when I re-open them. I'm absolut...

And I'd extend my suggestion a bit, again: This line should not only be displayed for {...} blocks of C-like programming languages, but also for tab-indented text files. So if I write a more or less structured collection of thoughts and information, I'd like to see that line there, too. BTW, is some...

TP license in registry

Hey, when I install TP and enter the license information, it will get stored into the HKLM part of the registry, it seems. Is there another way to store it in HKCU (current user) part, which doesn't need Administrator rights on that computer? I mean, why should one need Admin rights to register TP f...

Tabs' structure visualisation

Don't know how this is commonly called, but just have a look at Gel Java IDE ( http://www.gexperts.com/screenshot.html ). They have a very helpful feature: you can enable a dotted vertical line following the tabs' structure of a document. This looks a bit like the following (also see linked screensh...

ah, you meant the font for the text boxes only? sounds more reasonable... ;) i was already wondering, why would one want to change the dialog font to fixed?...

right, there is no windows setting for this.

Changing the font is a good idea, but I'd not change it to a fixed-width one, but to a TrueType one! Tahoma f.ex. I have CoolType enabled here, and it seems it can only smooth TrueType fonts, but not raster fonts (sounds logically...). And what is set now looks like MS Sans Serif or so... Guess that...

Uh... is this one self-made or an authentic screenshot? I'd like to see a more 'flat' file tab line, like in VS.net. And please take away the thicker border around the editor area then... ;) This is all I'd like to see for now. But I think TP is GREAT in how they use Windows' resources, menus etc. I...

Ehm, what is UCS-4 good for? I thought there's enough space ever in UCS-2... But I believe there should be REAL UCS-2/UTF-8 support first, then we could talk about the 'more advanced features'... unless UCS-4 would be easy to do when implementing UCS-2 functionality. I personally wouldn't need this ...

Yea, would be *very nice* if there was finally FULL UNICODE support in Textpad. Wondering why it's not there anyway... They say you can edit Unicode files etc. on their homepage, but you definitely cannot! I'm working on an internet bulletin board and would like to be able to edit utf8 language file...
