Conversion of Txt to HTML
I am wondering whether there is a macro which is the opposite of "Strig Tags" to convert simple txt files into HTML files. If not, is there an easy way to do so with TextPad? Satoshi

Thanks Bob. I forgot the name of the program. I once tried for a month. That text editor copies everything including hypertext. I understand that TextPad copies anything from clipboard. But it seems that Textpad does more than that, which I think it very versatile and useful program. I wish to expan...

Copying hidden hypertext
I do not know the exact word to descirbe here. I will try my best. When I copy an email address from Outlook Express on Textpad, it does not print the email address but only the name. For example, sender's name of an email is John Doe (johndoe@hotmail.com). On Outlook Express, I only see the name Jo...

I want to make it a little more clearer. Even before updating (i.e, with v. 4.7.0), I had no problem in opening txt files with Notepad or textpad by clicking E:/xxx.txt (E: my CD ROM drive). The problem (i.e., freezing computers) occurs when double clicked directly on any text file on CD (which is i...

I just upated to 4.7.1. In order to ensure the proper installation, the computer was re-booted. I do not see any improvement so far as opening txt files is concerned (on CD). I hate to say such a negative feedback. My computer froze again after clicking on txt file. Looking forward to seeing further...

Problem in opening txt files on CD disks
I use "DirectCD"-formatted CD disks for copying/carrying files. When I click "txt" files on CD (in CD ROM drive), my computer freezes. That happens to both of my office and home computers. So far I did not encounter any problem in opening other files (e.g., doc, graphics gif or j...

How to change icon?
Again, the problem was popped up when TextPad was uninstalled and re-installed. I already changed the association of all "txt" files with TextPad. That was done. Whenever I click txt files, it opened TexPad instead of notepad. That is a good part. But, the icon for txt files remained the s...

Why is Courier the default font for both Notepad and TextPad
I normally use Arial or Times New Roman as default fonts for Microsoft Word and other text-based programs (e.g., pagemaker). I wonder why NotePad and TextPad usd Courier as the default font. There must be a serious reasoning. Please enlighten me. James
