How do I set it to display the cursor position? Line & character numbers?

I used to have this on the bottom of the displayed screen but it seems to have vanished.

I have an older version 5.2? and it no longer pays attention to the color settings in Preferences. I assume if I can delete the Preferences settings file I can once again change these. I assume it is in the same place for version 8?

Oh, also, I'm not installing textpad I simply copied my textpad ...

I'd like to know how to get a new installation to recognize my macros from my last computer. I can copy and save the MACRO#.TPM files but the new installation won't recognize them UNLESS I first create macros of the same name and then copy over them.

Thanks, I've been using TextPad since forever and I never even looked for that red X so I guess that's why I didn't "see" it. When you said "red X" I looked for a red X and it was in plain sight. I can't believe how blind I can be at times.

I added *.XML here but I had already added it to HTML how do I remove it from the doc class "TXT" Files in Class list?

I don't know what I did differently but it is now using *.* as the default when I try to open a file.

I know I selected *.* again, but perhaps I saved some other Preference & then exited the program. Once back in it worked the way I wanted. I did not pay attention because I believed it would act ...

I want the default to list ALL files *.* when I use File / Open

When I'm viewing a txt file & I click "File / Open" the list of available files is constrained to *.txt & *.ini files. I want it to list ALL available files even those not associated with Textpad or even ones not ...

Yes the speed is impressive but I found over 2000 items none of which (I looked at) had anything to do with my question. I'm NOT going to spend hours trying to find the one that might solve my problem so you'll have to find a way to refine the list of posts found to make it at all useful.

The file name (open documents) tabs are presently at the top of the page, I like them better at the bottom, how do I move them?

I am running TextPad from a server drive it was NOT installed. My installation from one of my computers was simply copied to the server: H:\My Documents\CD\Apps\TextPad -

It can not find the spelling libraries, how do I change where it looks for these libraries?

That was what I missed! Now the color(s) I selected in the Config / Preferences / Text / Colors / URL work!

I installed 4.7.3 and 5.2.0 on my work PC but for some reason on this PC neither is able to show a URL in a different color from the standard text in a text file, any ideas?

I doubt this is a Textpad problem or setting, I've tried changing the URL colors in both, exiting Textpad opening Textpad ...

Today for some reason Textpad is staying on top of all other program windows I have open, the only way to get it behind is to click the [-] button on the top right of the screen.

I'm running ver 4.7.3 & there is no "System Menu" that I can find to see if it got set to do that some how.
