Would like open file window to retain previous settings
This may be OS-related, but when I open my "open file" window, I like it to be detail, date order in reverse, and large enough to see everything. But every time I open the window again, (and I do it a lot), I have to restore those settings. Could it be set up to keep them? While I am at it, when I ...

Serious problems occurred when upgrading to 7 from 6 (XP)
The following problems occurred when upgrading to version 7, using XP Professional: 1. When attempting to close a file, Textpad freezes. 2. The Preferences box takes a long time to come up. 3. A large portion of my settings did not copy over. UPDATE: Problem 1 went away when rebooting. I don't know ...

Lost settings when going from 6 to 7.
I attempted to add to existing thread and to write to support - no answer. I upgraded from 5 to 7, but the settings did not transfer. I uninstalled 7, then installed 6. I copied the sample folder from 5 to 6. Everything was good. Then I waited the several years it takes for it to let you download ...

LDR's fix works for version 5, too
I tried LDR's fix (delete in explorer; set in textpad), and it worked for my version 5 textpad. (He had thought it a problem in earlier versions only.) Before this, Textpad would open the file, but complain (or MS Windows would) that it couldn't find it. And if there were spaces in the path, it ...

Create new file in same dir as current
I have my "open file" set to look first in the directory of the currently open file. I find this extremely useful.
I would like to do the same with "new file".

Manage files exits in XP
My machine was just converted to Microsoft XP. I think it worked at first, but now I find that when I hit "Manage Files" I get the system error box and it exits.
Anyone have any ideas?

Ah, I did see that one, but got lost in it. However, is this really complex (to turn off all parsing for comments as you do for strings)? I still think (personally) that it would be a good option to have, to allow for english grammar. I will use your suggestion, of course. Thanks, mzk P.S. Turning ...

Allow disabling of strings in comments
I hope this isn't considered a covered topic. I did try to check. When I do an end-of-line comment such as: <!-- don't separate --> The text after the quote and the rest of the text for several lines is highlighted as a quote. Could we allow comments to override quotes? Thanks, mzk P.S. I know about ...
