To me, TextPad 6.0 is not even TextPad 5.0. More like 4.9. In my experience, a full number upgrade is basically a rewrite of the entire app. This is still 4.x with a bunch of small-to-moderate new features and slicker docking. No major requested features have been implemented in a decade. At least i...

Bug: TextPad freezes when folder is deleted via open dialog

Not sure this is 100% reproducible, but OFTEN anyway, when I'm in the Open File dialog, and I right-click-then-delete a folder, TextPad freezes. Windows Task Manager does NOT say that TextPad is "Not responding", but the only thing I can figure is to kill it. One note: If multiple instance...

I wish "File counts only" could be the default. Perhaps a registry tweak would do the trick? I have to click it every time, too, and its a bit annoying.

Curly brackets not "auto aligning"

In earlier versions of TextPad, when you typed [tab]text() {[cursor] And then pressed enter, the cursor would be automatically indented, resulting in [tab]text() { [tab][tab][cursor] ...and then when you pressed enter again... [tab]text() { [tab][tab] [tab][tab][cursor] ...and then the close-curly-b...

Jeffy: I, too, am still using 4.7.3 until the 5.x line matures. What was your impetus for upgrading? There are any features from 4.x you find missing? My impetus? I'm just always interested in trying the new version. There are a few missing features, but nothing major. The first that comes to mind ...

Finally!!! Upgraded from 4.7 to 5.3

Long time forum users will know me. I've been a huge TextPad fan for years, and was an active member in the forums some years back. I have tried each upgrade version since 4.7.*, from howEVER many years ago, and have been quite displeased with each one. Blatant instabilities and other problems reall...

Command to CursorToPrevRplc

Hello everyone, it's been a while. I have a request that is small and subtle, but will make my life easier. I need a command that returns the cursor to the location of the PREVIOUS REPLACEMENT. The problem is when I make a bunch of replacements--so many that I just click the command for ReplaceNext ...

We said in the announcement of TextPad 5 that this was the first of a planned series of upgrades, and you can expect to see both of those features implemented, although we won't commit to a timescale at the moment. The next upgrade with all the relevant bug fixes will be released in the near future...

Windows 2000 service pack 3

I have Windows 2000, but TextPad won't install because it says I need service pack 3 or greater. How do I find out what service pack I have, and how do I get the file(s) needed to update my OS? P.S. I don't have internet at home, but do have a large USB drive for downloading at the library or school...
