I actually prefer the way it works at the moment. However, I agree it would be nice to have the option, e.g., similar to Firefox's Tab Mix Plus add-on where you can set TMP's Ctrl+Tab to work either in the way you guys desire or in TextPad's way. When using TMP I set Ctrl+Tab to most recently used ...

Incremental find. What purpose does it serve? This was a much-requested feature in these forums. It speeds up searching as you don't need to wait until you've finish typing before bringing up a dialog box and clicking Find. Most web browsers now have it (IE is an exception). Notepad++ has it. IDEs ...

I was wondering what had happened to this as well. I'd forgotten about the right-click->customize operation because I'm so used to the View->Toolbars->Customize approach. Was it intentional to leave the Customize entry off the View->Toolbars menu?

I've never used the minimise to status bar functionality and so never missed it.

I have however recently started using this functionality in Firefox. Its tooltip shows the title of the currently active tab. I wouldn't want to see more than that in TextPad.

On-the-fly language syntax highlighting

That is, similar to the functionality in Notepad++ where with a new document you can choose a language from the Language menu and immediately apply its settings including syntax highlighting. I guess in TextPad this would be the equivalent of applying the document class settings without first having ...

The new UI is essentially a copy of the Visual Studio IDE. In it you can have either tabs or cascading windows but not both. The best workaround is to use the Tab Groups feature that they've just added. When I first used the new Visual Studio .NET IDEs after moving from VC++ 6 I too disliked the ...
