Line Breaks
You will need to change the "Word wrap long lines" and "Word break at column number" settings in the Document Classes section of the Configuration Preferences menu.

It's working ... really this time
Just after I made the last post, I had a thought that this may have been caused by the file type association. I looked at the Edit and Open actions and found this:
"C:\Program Files\TextPad 5\TextPad.exe" -s %1
I then tried changing it to this:
"C:\Program Files\TextPad 5\TextPad.exe" -s "%1"
and ...

It's working ... sort of
Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that option both ways, and they each have their set of problems.
With the option turned on, double-clicking a file with spaces in the name or folder gives the error I described originally.
With the option turned off, when multiple files are clicked, and you ...

Opening Files with Spaces in Filename or Folder
Using TP 5.2, I am having a problem opening files using a double-click if the filename or folder contains spaces. When doing so, I see a series of error messages "OK to create" followed by a folder name and a portion of the filename I am trying to open. If TP is already open, no such error messages ...

Another Clue
Also, I discovered that this only occurs when I have Document Tabs turned on. This is good to know, since toggling the Tabs on / off makes the file show up in the editor. Still, this is a definite bug I'd love to see fixed.

Opening Files from Search Results
When using Find in Files, I have found that, when I double-click the file name in the Search Results window while the search is still running, the file does appear to open but does not display to be edited. When I click a second file, the first file shows up but not the second. Same thing with the ...

Viewing Multiple Files
In TP5, you can no longer tile vertically or horizontally if you are displaying document tabs. If you turn off the "Document Tabs" option, the tile options will be available under the Window menu option.

New Release
Good news! They did just release the new version, and it is available for download officially now ( as of 1/11/08 ).

I tried it, and it corrects this issue along with several others as shown in the release notes.

Sorry
I am so sorry to have provided false hope. For some reason, the link has been removed by Helios. Anyway, there is definitely a version of TextPad that has this issue resolved. Maybe each user has to ask for it individually.

Long Line Cursor Movement After End - New TextPad Update
I posted an issue into the forum yesterday about the nasty habit TextPad 5.0.3 has of messing up the cursor movement after pressing End on any line longer than the width of the window.
Lo and behold, I got a response that I thought anyone experiencing this problem might be interested in. It is ...

Still waiting
The issue of pressing END on long lines is still driving me nuts. Is anyone willing to share any information about when the next maintenance release might be available? How about one that fixes just this issue and nothing else? I'd go for just that at this point.

Problem with Opening Multiple Files
I just installed TextPad 5.03, and I am having a problem now opening multiple files. If I choose multiple files from within TextPad directly, there is no problem. However, when I double-click from Explorer on a single file, it will open, but successive attempts to open another file using a double ...
