Starting with V8.17, when you select Block Select Mode, the small icon no longer is visible -- so you would have to remember if you had Block Select on or not.

I am not ignoring answering your questions. Since I uninstalled V9 and reinstalled V8, it appears to be working properly.

No idea why or why it didn't.

Wanted to make sure it lasted over a reboot.

FYI, the reason I installed V9 was that it wasn't working in V8 on this machine.

So, I am reinstalling V8. Presumably with default installs as V9 appears to have deleted the V8 install.

What's the encoding of the files you are searching? Is the default encoding on Configure » Preferences » Document Classes » Search Results the same as on the PCs that work? default encoding: Ansi And note. It "works". But gives me 0 finds even though there are some.

And it worked at one point and later in the same day failed (that is said there were 0)

I call that a bug.

I posted this quite a while ago and the FindInFiles error is persisting on my machine where it had the problem before.

I installed V9 to see if it would help. Seemed to help yesterday. This morning, it's back to not working.

Will try Ultraedit and see. I really liked Textpad though.

In many versions of Textpad that I have been using, one was able to dock the document selector, clip library, etc so that they would line up at the left side of the screen. See attached -- V8.16 I have been trying all morning to figure out how to do that in V9.2 -- but the docking window doesn't see...

This is not really a bug. I have Textpad running on 3 machines.

On one of them, FindInFiles does not work. I put in the parameters, press the button and nothing happens.

The other two are fine.

I've reinstalled, removed, installed. No idea????

Okay appears to work if you have at least TWO other textpad sessions going.

We have discovered the cause of the missing context menu options for opening files in a particular TextPad session, so it will be available again in the next maintenance upgrade. That would be great if it worked. Unfortunately, does not appear to. Your release notes say it was resolved in the Sep 2...

Two months and counting. No reply, no acknowledgement that this is a problem.
