HexEdit, another great program, does exactly that. You can create a bookmark and give it a name, or toggle an unnamed bookmark. You can then open the bookmarks window view all in that file and even in other files.
It would be a good feature to have in TextPad.

Column Indenting

Hi all. A few years ago i suggested a crazy idea of being able to indent columns by placing and/or dragging a marker in a column ruler similar to MS Word. Well i thought i would ask again, just in case any one changes their mind and because everyone has probably forgot about it. Here is the original...

I want that for all programs! I hate having the whole line in a command prompt being taken up by the directory. All i need to see is at most 3 levels.
I very much hope this gets implemented. :)

Enhancement for split window

I don't like the cross-hatch pattern displayed on the inactive window if you have the window split in 2 or 4. I suggest using a different colour, which can be chosen by the user. like this:

Tab order - changing, sorting, etc

I am constantly opening new files to work on. I may have a few files in a folder that i need to work with, but i only open each one when i need to (save time and space). For example, right now i am working with 6 files in a folder. But i may never have to open some, or only open them to check someth...

How about this. I suggested this not long ago. It provides a ruler that can also indent columns, like what MS Word does. And they could make it indent certain keywords/characters to easily align things

Unicode support

Unicode support. Why doesn't TextPad have it? (does it?) Whenever i open files in UTF-8 format it says "contains characters that do not exist in code page 1252..."
So can you make it unicode compatible. Also, it doesn't repaint when it displays the message

One thing that's nice to have is indents that honor block versus regular mode.... in block mode, you'd want to indent just the block you've selected. Yes that would be good too. In either mode it would only indent the selection (is any). I don't know how you would implement such a thing, i think it...

That's what i'm talking about. Everything would be done in spaces (unless the user selected to use tabs). If you move the indenting thing on the ruler up the top then it just adds spaces to each line in between the previous non-whitespace character and the ruler position. If there is a whole word in...

Column indenting - Really great idea

I have a really great idea that i would really like TextPad to implement. The indent feature where you press down and it goes to the initially selected column is a great feature but i would like more. How about an indenting feature like MS Word, only the indenting works by column. That is, it moves ...

which µCs are you going to support? which binaries? which programs to disassemble those binaries? I was kinda hoping that it could support any, as long as it was given a definition file (like the syntax files) but that would probably be hard to do since there are a lot of different types of assemb...

disassembler and better hex editor

I love text pad but i do not like the hex editor (viewer rather). I would like it to be a full editor so you can edit binary (hex) values just as you would normal text. Also please make an option to view (and edit) in binary, that is, 0A6F would be displayed as 101001101111. Also, i would like a dis...
