file just too big for Textpad

I am having the same problem. I could have sworn the old versions of Textpad opened my large files just fine, but I am trying for the first time since upgrading to version 5, and at first I received your error message, and now Textpad just grinds and grinds trying to open the file. I finally just ...

But I'm not too surprised. That's what you might expect from an "internet marketer" (i.e. spammer?).

Just curious. But does anyone know what the profile is of users for Textpad? Just thinking out loud. Like how many people use Textpad for what reasons and for what features? Though Textpad is a text editor, what is it being used for and how is it being used? Anyone like to comment? I use my ...

How will it be implemented?

I still have visions of the current line highligh implemented by dotted lines above and below the line.

How do we want this implemented?

I would prefer it implemented in the way that Microsoft implements Intellisense in their development products. That's pretty slick.

One minor glitch...

The last page of my install, where the text says, "The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed... <blah blah blah>" has a textbox on the screen with no text. It probably says something like, "Click here to open the readme.txt", but I can't see it so I don't know for sure. Otherwise, seems to ...

Line Highlighting -- PERFECT!

This is perfect for me. What am I missing that people are unhappy about? You can turn it off, you can have it all one color (like mine), or you can have the dashes. It's completely selectable, from what I can tell.

Good job, guys.

??

You are saying the ICON needs to appear beside the Textpad item on the right-click menu, right?

I'd vote for that, as long as it doesn't impact getting other, more useful, features implemented.

Where did the dashed line thing come from?

Who came up with this idea? A simple colored line has been implemented in many packages before, to a positive response. Why in the world would someone want to change something so common and successful? Guys, from a fellow software designer, please use the best of what's out there. That's the way to ...

Dashed Lines = BAD IDEA

I was one of the guys that requested the current line be highlighted. I did this probably about 3 years ago. Who in the world came up with the dashed effect? That hideous--it creates an optical illusion that the line is small and squished between the two dashed lines. You should allow the current ...
