My textpad window (8.12.0) stays on top of all my other windows. When I search in help for "stays on top" it says that this configuration is configured at Preferences from the Configure menu - Stay on top of other windows. In Win 7, in the start menu (or search) open "Default Programs". Then select "Associate a file type or protocol with a program." Highlight an extension on click on "Change program...", and choose TextPad.

I am used to the old behavior where a new document has its tab created on the right, not the left. Is there a way to change this behavior?
