Short (8-character) paths and filenames - problem
This may work for you, but the short pathnames and filenames may not be valid for some people - I suspect. For example, depending on how many versions of TextPad they had installed, and the order in which they insatlled them - TEXTPA~1 may represent \TextPad 3\ or \TextPad 5\ or \TextPad 4\ [It did ...

The Textpad icon is missing. There must be another registry key to be added.

Surely not CMD !?
That's a kludge, if ever I saw one. I mean this Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\TextPad] @="&TextPad" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\TextPad\command] @="cmd /c start /max textpad.exe \"%L\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\TextPad] @="&TextPad" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder ...

Right-Click - Open with > Textpad wants to create a folde
5.0.3, w/o hacking the registry. I have a .log file (named iso19115_proceso.log) created in C:\Program Files\IME_V4_0\ - it's not read-only, but it is temporary I think - it only appears when I'm running an application. It's a text file, lines ending Unix-wise. I can open this with Notepad on ...

Perhaps the developers could put together a simple .reg file that fixes all of these problems? Hacking the registry is not a great way to go, but supplying a ZIP file with a .reg file, and clear & simple instructions, would keep a lot of people reasonably happy until all the fixes are done and a new ...

Several problems - TextPad5 (5.0.3)
Doesn't work well with shell extensions - the textpad 4 registry settings are still in place (I think they should all have been cleared out), and the ContextMenuHandler settings for Textpad4 are useless (of course they do not work with Textpad5). eg - Changing the path and the name of the DLL doesn ...
