Good point

Good point.

$27 falls far short of expensive.

How can we get the programmer to start posting the plans for the next release? I'd still love to know what's next. Wouldn't you?

Mark :)

webmasta wrote:Do you mean a folder tree in document selector??
Correct.

Need a way to visually group and organize documents within the workspace.

Does anyone know what's being considered?

Does anyone know what suggested enhancements are being considered for upcomming releases? Is there a "Planned Enhancements" link anywhere on the site? This would be very useful information for those of us waiting on enhancements before registering. Me personally, I won't register until the ...

Jumping to a bookmark in another doc

I did some forum searches on "bookmarks" and was unable to locate the answer to my question. So I'll ask it now  I do a search in all documents, bookmarking the matches. How do I quickly jump to each bookmark? [F2] works within the page but won't jump outside the page to the next document and ...

Exactly what I was looking for

Thanks for the replies guys. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Perhaps TP would be the better choice.

Re: Can someone tell my this is better?...

I just tried Crimson Editor. As far as I can tell after a few days of playing with CE, it's is WAY better than TextPad. Can someone tell me why I would choose the $27 TextPad over the free CE? What am I missing? There are probably less subtle ways to advertise your product. I suppose I was too ...

Thumb drive is smaller than a CD

The Thumb drive is smaller than one of those little Bic cigarette lighters. Much smaller than a CD or a floppy. However, you are correct, I'd have to make sure I always have that drive with me. Our original ideas are still better. Write the snippets remotely.

And also...

Not only organize the workspace docs in a tree, but allow us to select a folder and auto-add all the files ( with a filter *.php, etc ) down through the folders structure. Kinda like HomeSite does.

Webmasta, I just realized...

I'm really not a moron. I'm walking around here with a 256MB Thumb drive hanging from a cord around my neck. Gee, could I write my snippet file (web page, whatever) on that?!?!?!

In my own defense, I did just buy the drive a few days ago.

Yep, pre tags is an excellent idea.

One of these days I'll convince someone to build this into their IDE. What a joyous day that will be!

Remote snippets

Store your snippets in .htaccess protected directory on your website and grab them from anywhere in the world whenever you need them. You're talking snippets in web pages correct? If so, yes I've considered that. I could even write a whole web app to manage the storing, searching, and retrieving ...

The ultimate enhancement

I'll start off by saying TextPad is the closest thing I've found to the code editor I would write for myself. Except for missing document treeview and "Remote Snippets". To my knowledge no one has written an IDE that allows the user to store and organize code snippets on a remote machine. By remote ...

Only real fault I can see

The lacking document treeview is the only real fault I can see in TextPad. I'm having a hard time understanding why this wasn't coded in the beginning. Seems odd to me.
