With older Textpad (v4.7), I could open files in a different directory using control-o and then ".." and keep hitting ENTER to continue going up a directory level (the ".." would stay in the filename textbox). But now, typing ".." + ENTER results in the directory name we just came from being in the ...

Yes, I have the tools configured. But they show up under Tools, External Tools, XXXX.

The old version had all the external tools listed right on the tools menu, so I put my most-used tool last and it could be invoked quickly with Alt-T, up-arrow, enter.
