Where are the syntax color definition files?

In other words, the colors set in Preferences > Document Classes > [TYPE] > Colors , like "Current line" and "Keyword 1". I have changed some of mine and I'd like to back up that file. I looked through the various directories in Program Files/Textpad/ but couldn't find any appropriate files. I'm ...

Okay, thanks for that, worked well, and much more quickly, too. BTW, is there a non-greedy operator when using the Posix mode? In many programming languages with regex support, you can do things like: (.+?)\|\|(.+?) ... Which searches from the beginning and would stop at the first pipe, rather than ...

Can't remember it exactly, but it was something like: ^\(.+\)||\(.+\)||\(.+\)||\(.+\)||.+SOME TEXT.+$ It's from a text file I created to add data to a database, format is like FIELD||FIELD||FIELD||... The regex works most of the time but as I said it crashes on very long llines, about 15,000 ...

"Recursion too deep" crashes v5

Textpad 5 kept crashing when searching for a regular expression (that contained .+ several times). After going back to v4 (again...) the same thing happened, only it popped up an alert saying "Recursion too deep; Stack overflowed" or something like that. But I could carry on using the program. It ...

Yeah I already tried that, it didn't work.

No matter though; I've gone back to 4.7.3 anyway because TP kept crashing on a regex search - in 4.7.3 I just get "recursion too deep" message but can carry on!

The context menu thing appears fine in v4.

Vista does not show "Textpad" in context menu

How do I get the simple "Textpad" link in my context menu, in v5 on Vista? The options is checked in Preferences>General. I've tried running as Administrator too in case it was that, but no luck. I really love that context shortcut, it made my life so much easier when Windows decides that a file ...

A good comparison to make would be with the web browser, Opera. They have a huge and popular forum for feature suggestions, reporting problems, etc. as TP does here. But, they also release beta versions (and even weekly snapshots) for keen users to try new features and report issues back to them ...

I had the same problem. Macros all worked nice n perfectly in 4.7.3, now in 5.0 they don't do anything. There appear to be a bunch of macros in my Samples folder and some more in Application Data\Textpad . Also, all the macro keyboard shortcuts have totally messed up, they've each changed to a ...
