I wanted to add another issue:
I had previously assigned Alt-C to ActivateClipLib and Alt-S to ActivateSelector. With a recent (long-overdue) update from 8.12 to 9.3.1, these now both give me errors and sometimes close TextPad.

I thought I could (a) turn off word wrap, (b) jump to bookmark or search the document, and (c) then turn word wrap back on. That does not help. When I turn on word wrap, step (c), the display jumps back to the center of the document, so that's broken too. Disappointing. I'll probably have to revert ...

Scroll Fails on Search
Scrolling does not follow search correctly in documents that wrap text. The buffer view will not follow the cursor past halt way through the document when the next search result is off screen. This occurs both while searching and jumping to bookmarks. This essentially makes searching worthless for ...

How does Emacs handle the tabs?
vb.net, Just thought I'd toss in my $.02, since I use Emacs in a Unix environment and TextPad in windows and have used the both daily for, well, about a decade. First, tabs are tabs. It doesn't matter if they come from Unix or Windows or what encoding is used. At least I've never seen a tab act ...

Bad "Feature"
Why would one not want to be able to join lines when text is wrapped? I really don't understand the value of making this contingent on a display option. I use this command all the time in a variety of documents, in most of which I wrap lines. I prefer to see all the text. Upon upgrading to 5.0.3 ...

Close X Should Be Optional
I'd like the option to have a close X on tabs, but I probably wouldn't use them. I don't in the browser I use. For web pages with short names, I sometimes hit the X rather than the rest of the tab, closing the tab I want to see. My browser, however, allows me to assign a key to close tabs, so I use ...

Tab order when opening new docs
I'd like to second sriedel's request. When working with lots of open documents, it's really helpful to order them and have them retain their order next time I open the workspace. Also, the new files opening at left, rather than right, is a little odd. BTW, I just upgraded to 5.0.3. Other than a few ...

Fixed it seems (at least last few hours it was behaving well) This didn't work for me. I tried several variations on the theme and found a work-around: I created a new action called "edit" and set it as the default. TextPad can muck with the "open" action all it wants. I just ignore it. Here are ...
