Hello Support,

Thank you for your reply, your solution worked like a charm and light gray has done the trick.

Most of my applications use the Windows XP color scheme so the gray should not be a problem.

Thank you again,

Michael Gordon

Hello Robin, Thank you for the tip, I used part of your suggestion and applied a shot-in-the-dark approach to resolve my problem. When I opened a new blank document from the menu I had a background color I did not like, using the preferences for default documents did not resolve the problem, but ...

Clipboard upgrade and search upgrade

I have two basic suggestions to improve the way TP functions for the user. 1. Create a user preference for the number of clip lines stored in the clipboard from 40 to what ever number will fit on the user screen. It is a pain in the rear when the clip library begins dropping clipped lines at 40 ...

BBadmin, Thank you for your very timely support. I have been trying to get my TextPad 5.03 to go back to the docked document selector and clip library for three weeks. Getting over eager with the mouse undocked both tools and I was wasting time trying to work the old way. Thanks again for your ...

Yes to both questions.

The "New Blank Document" opened from the tool bar icon "New Document" opens with a bright white background.

When I save an open document in .html and then reopen that document the edit window is the background color I set in Preferences/Document Classes/HTML. The problem is in the New Document. Since we cannot attach screen shots here I will explain the procedure. 1. Open TextPad and the default window is ...

To better clarify the problem, when I open a new blank document and enter some code, or text and save it as .html the background color of the edit window remains white, not the darker shade I set in the default document classes. To restate the question, is there a way to force TextPad to open a new ...

Edit Window Background Color

I have recently purchased a new HP w2007 flat panel monitor and the new display is much brighter than the older CRT monitor. I have tried every method I can think of to change the edit window background color to a darker tint to ease the reading of code I am entering into the edit window, but have ...

Update. The problem has been resolved 99%. TextPad now will send the open HTML document through the Apache server and open SeaMonkey to review all server side functions. The cure was to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and revert back to IE 6, then use System Restore to restore Windows XP Pro sr2 back ...

View In Web Browser

Todays problem may not be directly related to TextPad, but TextPad lost an extremely important function today. I use TextPad in combination with my Apache Server on Windows XP sr2 with all the latest updates as of yesterday. I have a root folder for all web sites and TextPad is able to open all ...

Please try implementing the following procedure: Arrange your "My Documents" folder in Explorer, in alphabetical order, by clicking on "Name". It won't work, if you try doing this from within a dialog box in TextPad. Next: From the Explorer Tools menu choose: 1. Folder options 2. View 3. From ...

Open Files Dialog Box Sorting

Sometime over the past few weeks TextPad began opening the "Open Files Dialog Box" with a random sort order. If I perform the following tasks. 1. Open TextPad from a Windows XP Pro desktop icon. 2. In the TextPad "Common Menu" Open File. A Windows type dialog box opens displaying all the folders and ...
