compare files out put window not showing

I am a long time user but haven't been using textpad for a while.

just tried to compare 2 files and can't get it to work. The command results window is not to be found.

Any hints on how to get it to reappear ?

hmmm... thanks for the reply - if there's any suggestions on how to resolve the problem I'm open to hear them. I started with 5.4. went to 5.4.1 then to 5.4.2 and there's been no change so I can only presume it's buried in there somewhere. I don't seem to be alone. I saw another post with similar ...

You can see there is a mixture of text and icons for the tools as well a the problem where tools are out of numbered order or listed twice.

quite a mess...

It's not "view" it's "configure" in the same toolbar of buttons which contains "view" you referenced.

5.4 bug

There seems to be a bug in version 5.4 The tools in the tool bar show up twice. Once in a text form "Tool1" "Tool2" etc. and then again with the icon of the hammer In the text form,the mouseover always shows the name of the first tool for each of them regardless of their number . Any way to fix this ...

you'll be better off spending time with a third party macro tool.

all will allow means of building and editing your own macros which can be applied on tp files.

I use this a a tool for organizing my own executables.

excellent. :D Now I can create a function list for the working file and use it to jump to any function. I still am unclear as to why the registers are "1" and "2" I know TP is looking to find the 'file' and 'line' but how is it reading these two values from the reg expr. ? It appears the expression ...

thanks, that got it working.

What might be the combination if I wanted to reverse the sequence of the output to look like:

showmessage :Charts.cls(3):
