I have been having tons of problems with version 7 under win7 64bit.
(Maybe it's partly due to Kaspersky AV?)
I'm going to downgrade but am not sure which version to try? I remember disliking some of the 'recent' ones, but somehow it seems sad to go back to 4.73.

automatically saving new documents
I totally agree with this suggestion to use temporary filenames. The "automatically save" option is extremely annoying for me as it is, since I tend to jot notes in new documents that I'm not sure I want to keep yet.

Hi, I use workspaces a lot and I often have the same files loaded. It would be great if I could assign some of the filenames in the selector pane certain colors to make them easier to find.
