And how should anyone have known you wanted to use the command prompt? To my knowledge TextPad does not offer a command prompt. Do you mean the Run command? Even now it's not sure if you need it, or if you're executing a program on its own. Those are all different things. Different as far as gettin...

It could show the existing colours unchanged. When one of your syntax text colors is red and your selection text color is maroon Well that would be a silly choice, wouldn't it. And anyway, as I said, my colours are the defaults. I see no colour collision there. I never said there is one. I said Not...

That's why I ask for a reconstructable example None was needed to answer the question: "How can I get Tool Output to show Unicode characters?" As your useful answer demonstrates. Run any tools that output unicode. So far I can't reproduce it: using CMD (what most people still call "D...

I never expect a selection to show syntax highlighting, as the selection itself is already using its own colors. Not necessarily. The TextPad selection makes it the users choice. This user has not specified a selection foreground coluor, instead specifying automatic. He expected that to yield the c...

Run any tools that output unicode.
AmigoJack wrote:Maybe the source is the problem, not the output. Maybe the font being used is not capable to show the correct characters.
The source in the same font shows the characters. Evidence added to post.

Is here a good place to report bugs?

I ask because on dozens of reports I've made here over years, I recall very few (if any) getting a response from the developers.

8.0.2 Workaround for current line outline obscuring chars?

Having reconfigured TextPad for light text on dark background by manually adjusting the background and foreground colors individually for each syntax element, I find the current line has a dotted outline that has not reversed, and is not configurable AFAICT and hides some descenders e.g. http://i.im...

How to configure white text on black background?

Please?

I tried Preferences > Documents Classes > <name> > Colors, but it see to offer no setting for the main text which is stuck in grey, e.g. the word 'res' on the first line here.

Is there any way to get correct syntax highlighting of JS?

Is there any way to get correct syntax highlighting of JavaScript? All the .syn files I have tried give errors. E.g. on this code function htmlEscape(str) { return str .replace(/&/g, '&amp;') .replace(/"/g, '&quot;') .replace(/'/g, ''') .replace(/</g, '&lt;') .replace(/>/g, '&am...
