I could swear, and often do, that I had suggested code folding. I in my opinion this could probably be bundled with the styles. If the styles and highlighting were all converted to XML files it may make things easier to implement. Also would be nice to be able to see a transparent colored lines ...

XML
Instead of using a .txt or .ini file you might consider using an XML file for all the settings and configuration. I run TEXTPAD on several machines that I am admin for and a network located XML file of settings would be very handy.

yes that is correct
But at least it helps a little on the testing of regular expressions. I typically, at the moment code a lot in PERL so that is just what I am used to at the moment.
