I have found that you need to set the preferences when all documents are closed. Then restart TextPad and settings will be retained. The dashed lines you are looking at are a new "feature" that has had a lot of discussion since implementing. It can be disabled and/or changed in the prefere...

Perhaps someone with the problem could set up a VPN or pcAnyWhere host type of connection with Helios so they can troubleshoot the problem directly? Just a thought, since they can't duplicate it, this could be the next best thing.

Is there a particular file type/class/size that does not work?
Are the CDs commercial, CD-R, CD-RW, ?

I have just tried reading from 4 CDs, two on local machine, two across mapped network shares.

Using 4.7, no problem reading files on these 4 CD units.

I think the default browser is detemined by your system. Check the File Associations in Explore and Change Open settings from Netscape to MSIE. But this will apply to all html files. MSIE will become your default browser for all applications. ( I also prefer Netscape 4.79 to all other browsers, but ...

The icon is grayed out once you have saved and made no changes. If no changes have been made and you click on Save icon, TextPad thinks you want to save it under another name, since it hasn't changed since your last save. Once you make a change, it is active again, not grayed out. It actually makes ...

Context menu delay

I have been experiencing a long delay when opening files with TextPad from the Context Menu (right click in Explore). To duplicate problem, three tests follow: ================================= File = test.txt, size=1K, Wind98SE, 700MHz, 256K ram. TextPad 4.7, but also had same problem in 4.6x versi...

Hi Jeffy... Monthly would be fine. I think the biggest issue is that the non-included list is growing. Too bad there is no way to make new polls conform to the specs that were initially requested. And it is also a lot of work for someone to scroll through all of the polls that they have not yet vote...

I have been using Macro Scheduler to automate TextPad and other programs. I am also able to use Macro Scheduler to create editable macros in TextPad. Too many features to list here.

Macro Scheduler is available at http://www.mjtnet.com/index.htm?ref=rmh ... rg_2644641.
