If B is a Windows file system shortcut to A , and I edit B ,
TextPad reads in A , and when it writes, it writes the changed text to a
new file, B , that overwrites the shortcut, resulting in two different files
-- B & A . :cry:

The earlier version did not do this.

TextPad is dandy. I use it all the time.

But, you need the right tool for the job!

Since you seem to understand regex:

Try Cygwin/gawk, Perl. http://Cygwin.com :

Windows cannot find <full-dir-path>/<file-core-name>.txt in TextPad 5.0

To fix this problem:

Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / File Types / Extension /
Select: TXT -- Text Document:
Delete / YES / Close

Make sure that Text Documents are defined the way you want in
TextPad, and TextPad will ...
