Possible solution, or at least a workaround:

I was having the same problem. (Just today, out of the blue.) Tried all of the previous suggestions in this thread. No luck.

Then I tried to launch TextPad by itself, and couldn't even do that. (No error, no TextPad.)

Went into Task Manager (Processes ...

When I choose menu File / Workspace / Close, TextPad asks me if I want to save changes to the current workspace.

But if I don't choose that menu -- if I open another workspace, or simply exit TextPad altogether -- then TextPad automatically saves changes to my current workspace.

Is there any way ...
