What about an option to select the direction of the cursor when typing (left to right, right to left and even top to bottom or bottom to top).
I was using this feature with an old DOS editor. It was useful when I was working on data files.

Code folding and colored comparisons
It would be very useful to introduce code folding just like Scintilla or Visual .NET editor.
In addition, the result of a comparison between two files could be colored like CVS webtools.
