Actually, I kind of like the toolbar in 5.4.2, but yeah it is a bit dated. Anyway you should be able to modify the icons for your own needs using 'Resource Hacker' or any other resource editor. I just realized there is an option in textpad to use large toolbar icons. Indeed, that looks hideous!

Hm. my problem is that when choosing Help -> Help Topics menu, nothing happens at all. Pressing F1 brings up Help though... Britt: I think the issue you refer to has been fixed. I can't reproduce this error - works as it should here. I tried both pressing H after releasing the Alt and E buttons, and not - both works!

However, the three first items on the Help menu doesn't seem to work. I must press F1 to get up Help.

Actually... I use 4.73 and Ctrl-J works *partly* with word-wrap on:

If cursor is on an empty line, or the next line is an empty, Ctrl-J does not work in word-wrap mode - but otherwise it works!

This is likely a bug, but not a big problem.

Mine takes a few seconds at first run, but after that it loads almost instantanious. Upgrading from 4.7.3 didn't work well, so a full uninstall, and manually removing anything with "textpad" and "helios" in the registry before reinstalling did the trick. Well, 4.7.3 was released less than a year ago (19. june 2004). But I have to agree that not much has happened since 4.0, which was released in 1999. When there is no developement whatsoever for ONE YEAR in this buissiness, you basically have a dead product. Sad, sad - it used to be the best.

As a workaround, I use drag'n drop when texpad is open - that always works.
