This request is so old now, and I saw many other similar topics/requests. In my opinion the developers should pay a bit more attention to it. At least someone could react on the requests. Whether they are planning to do something around this question or not.

Take a look at WildEdit. It may satisfy your needs.

There could be a second New function in the File menu, something like New temporary document (Ctrl+Shift+N). These documents would not be saved on 'save all changed'-like events (Save All, Close, ...) by default, but could be saved if the user wants it.

You mean, there could be an option of specifying code format definition files like there are the syntax definition files for every document class?
Or maybe some kind of structured syntax definition file could define either the syntax highlight and the code formatting rules.
That could even help ...

I think the topic Treeview in the document selector has something in common with this one.
In my opinion if the current Workspaces would become Projects, and a new type of workspace could contain many projects (or with a similar solution), then all the mentioned advantages could be pushed.

The context menu of a file in the Document Selector could contain the Mark Clean function.

Good idea, but TP is a text editor, not an IDE.
However if the commenting feature would be added, I think there should be 4 functions: comment/uncomment selection or the line where the cursor resides with line comment

When an another application updates a file that is opened in TP, TP asks whether it should reload it or not. When a file is reloaded the bookmarks vanish.

When the 'Show full paths' option is off in the Document selector, then the Edit | Copy Other | All File Names command should copy only the files' short names.
