Textpad 8 supports the visual file comparison. However it does not identify which character is different in 2 lines. This will be really useful for 2 almost identical lines. Open source tool like meld does this. www.meldmerge.org

I support the enhancements suggestions. There should be user preference to display External Tools Submenu or see it like the old way. I would also like to revert to old behavior of displaying the output in the main document window. This should be configurable for each tool menu item.
