Credentials about sysadmin experience: about 8 years of frustrated hacking at sendmail on FreeBSD... http://www.mailenable.com/ <-- there is a free version of this available that should cover most people's needs - I'd use it myself but i'm using some cheap-ass windows hosting from the guys at www ...

Output window docking suggestion
I find that the output window is a bit of a pain in the arse sometimes for obscuring what you are working on and getting in the way ctrl-tabbing around Would it be a good idea to have an option to dock the output window to the bottom of the MDI workspace? Proposal: * Provide a docking option for the ...

buy now. a) you don't know when the next version will be - noone does b) $31 is nothing for such software. I use textpad for about 8-10 hours a day and have watched it pay off that price at least once a day. c) I bought my last license back in '99 for textpad so they last a long time (unlike office ...

In fact, just add the SDK bin directory and the \windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.x\ directories to your system's path. Works fine. I have Nant ( http://nant.sourceforge.net/ ) wired into textpad for building stuff with. Works great. My .Net development environment for you... - Win2k3 Server (as ...

Too much change is bad
I'd just like to add something to this... I prefer software that doesn't change too often. The modern forced upgrade cycle costs small businesses like mine an immense amount of money for little gain other than "percieved support". The fact that Textpad has never caused me a problem (in daily use for ...

Integration with MySQL command line client
Has anyone done this successfully before I attempt to have a go?
I've been using mysql-administrator but it's buggy as anything and is less productive than textpad generally.

This is about the only thing I wouldn't want to edit with TextPad - Query Analyzer is top notch for this and has some decent debugging features built in. If you are only using MSDE and don't have this tool, buy SQL Server 2000 developer edition from Amazon for about 40 UKP and use that, then deploy ...
