this is quite a common problem, ..
textpad it seems, cannot edit binary files
it opens them as read-only
is there a way to do edit them in binary/hex/dec from textpad?

when i press enter it doesn't create a new line, it just moves the cursor down as if you press the down arrow.

when I click an icon of a text document, I would like the text document top open in the current textpad process. Instead, a new textpad process is created. Thus, if I clicked 10 text documents, I would have 10 textpads in my taskbar. THat defeats the purpose of it being a tabbed text editter! Where ...

when I go into textpad it displays a graphic for a second, with the word "TextPad". The graphic then disappears.
How do I prevent the graphic from appearing at all? i.e. remove the splash screen?
