Thanks. Guess I should read through all the previous suggestions before I make one of my own.

Back button

I would like to see a back and forward button, similar to what many IDEs and Web browsers have. Clicking the back link would take you to the previous file location.

Thanks, but what I had in mind was being able to select two files from the document selector and running the diff w/o having to paste the file name into a parameter. That had already occurred to me, but it's a pita.

I've been thinking about this some, and I think the real issue is you can't send two files to a tool as arguments. If you could select two docs and pass those as arguments, you could set up a third-party diff as a user-defined tool with no extra support needed from Textpad. This would also allow you ...

External Diff

I would like to see support for an external diff program. Selecting of the files, etc., would work exactly as it does now, but we'd have a preference setting to select a third-party diff tool. Something like Wincvs is what I have in mind.

How ironic is it that a tool targeted towards users of open source software costs $295?

Shorter Release Schedule

This is not a feature request, exactly, but I would like to see a shorter release schedule. I would rather have 10 new/improved 1-feature releases than one big release with 10 features.

Refactor Tool Support

I would like to see more support for refactoring, something like RefactorIT for Java or the Refactoring Browser for SmallTalk. For example, you add an argument to the datatype of a method argument, the refactor shows you where that argument is being used and helps you change it. I realize this is ...

Method List for Current File

It would be nice to have a floating function/method list for the current file.

temporary bat file cleanup

I just installed TP on a new WinXP machine, and I'm having a problem with running Java classes using the built-in command. It compiles fine, then runs the class as expected. However, it creates a temporary bat file to run the class but doesn't clean up the file. Consequently, I have many uneeded ...
