I have a question about running TextPad from within a Java program rather than the other way round (the other way round being the usual topic for this forum...)

I know how to start up an instance of TextPad from a Java program using the Runtime class' exec method. But I'd like to know if ...

Is there a way to make it so that the display of whitespace chars is on everytime TextPad starts up, so one doesn't have to click on the reveal whitespace button?

I would be very pleased to know that there's some way to do this.
