I could not duplicate the error you are getting as I don't get any error message. I am using xp sp2 textpad 5.1. What kind of memory stick where you using? Did it have U3 on it? I don't have one of those to test with. Do you have admin rights on the p.c? They have security cranked up real tight on m...

Textpad does not support autocomplete as the term is usually used. There are some workarounds. 1) clip library. This comes built in to Textpad. Try it first. 2) clipboard extender programs These will enable you to store clips as well. Textpad has some limited built-in functionality here. I use a pro...

TEXTPAD AND PALM PDB EBOOK COMPILER
I need to convert several text files into Palm ebook (pdb) format.
I want to use textpad as the editor but I have not yet found a palm "compiler" that will work as a tool in textpad.
Has anybody else already figured out how to do this yet?
many thanks

CLIPS STROBING
I'm wondering if anybody else has noticed this problem.
I have a couple of long clips and when I mouse over these clips the "ballon help" strobes making the clip impossible to read. My many short clips are fine.
the clips in question are 46 lines and 78 lines long.
dell optiplex, win xp

delete blank line
this works for me:
search for: ^\n
replace with: nothing (leave blank)
this assumes the line is empty, that is no spaces tabs etc.

horizontal ruler
I was looking for a horizontal ruler as well.
Then I started to use the column indicator in the status bar.
I get along quite well now without the horizontal ruler.
Your needs may differ from mine but I thought I would mention this as an option.

I do recall that that the first time I opened config pref in 5.0 it was slooow. After that first time it has opened just fine.
