Hi Ben, Thank you very much for your response. It works! I didn't understand the part about Set the regular expression to match the output of the search: In default regular expression syntax: ^\([^(]+\)(\([0-9]+\)): In Posix regular expression syntax: ^([^(]+)\(([0-9]+)\): What does this do? Linda

adding to the dictionary not working

I've had a similar problem. When I encounter a misspelled word that I want to add to the dictionary, it gives an error message. I think I tried re-installing or something once, but I can't really remember, but it still didn't work. I have version 4.7.3. Is there a more recent version and is it free ...

When I reopen it in Word, word detects the <html> tag at the beginning and adds all kinds of garbage ...

alt tab doesn't work (windows 98)

I had this problem, too. In fact, I used to have an older version of TextPad - maybe 4.3.1? - and I upgraded to 4.7.2 today because I didn't see this thread in the forums. After the upgrade, still had the same problem. It fixed it to uncheck the "stay on top of other windows" (Thanks, MudGuard ...
