Pros:
1. Find in Files - I use this all the time and have had pretty good luck with it.

2. Block select - Another feature I use frequently.

Cons:
1. Lack of updates and communication from developer(s).

Why the cryptic reference to the other editor you're using? How 'bout sharing that info, as I'm also looking for a Textpad replacement. The Crimson editor looks promising.

Remove Octets?

Suggestions on how to remove the first two octets from an IP address?

For example, if I have 123.23.53.230, the RegEx would extract

53.20

Thanks.

Replace AlphaNumeric.anything

Looking for a RegEx that will replace an alphanumber., with nothing. For example, I have a document that has: 1. as;fjsa;f A. a;fs;afa b. a;fasfsafw And I'd like to remove either occurance of the number/letter and the dot, with nothing. I've tried various incantations, but am having no luck. Thanks ...

Okay, I'm late to the party on this, but here's another vote for putting the X on all tabs.

Remove FQDN String

I have a CSV file full of fully-qualified domain names in the form of:

server1.domain.child.child

How do write a regex to remove everything from the first "." to the end of line? In this case, remove ".domain.child.child".

Thanks!

Run off CD?

Is it possible to run TextPad off a CD? My job requires me to work on various PCs frequently and it would be easier if I could just run TextPad from CD.

Document Tabs - Resize?

Is there a way to resize the document tabs? There is a lot of wasted space on each tab.

This is happening with any of the config files and it happens during a print preview attempt as well. I can't even bring up the print dialog to change printer options. I did send an email to support.

Runtime error when printing

I'm a long-time user of Textpad and just this morning when I went to print a config file, I got a runtime error:" R6015- pure virtual function call."

I've deinstalled and reinstalled Textpad but still getting the same error.

Help!

Thanks!

Search/window suggestion

I like the Search in Files feature in Textpad and was wondering if you could a switch that would allow the search to return N lines above and/or below the returned line. For example, if I want to search for a piece of code also look at the code 3 lines below, I could search/window=3/above.

Thanks
